Feel the calmness of your breath

Once upon a time I was often moving through the day lost in thought. Thinking, thinking, over thinking! I would be caught in thought so much that I would miss what was going on around me. I would arrive to where I was going and not see anything along the way. I would be sitting in stillness and my mind was constantly wandering.

The thoughts that I was caught in weren’t thoughts that were getting me to where I desired to be but rather thoughts filled with doubt, worry and lack. 

Can you relate?

It was through my breath that I was able to shift out of being lost in these fear filled thoughts and into the abundant, free flowing moment of now. 

Whenever I caught myself in thoughts that were not serving me for the highest, greatest good, I would focus on my breath. Connecting with my breath, feeling the air I was breathing in, being grateful for the fresh air around me. The more I connected with my breath, the more I noticed a massive difference in my mindset. Through my breath I was able to move from a busy mind to my soothing soul.

This practice of focusing on my breath took patience and commitment because here’s the thing, thoughts are normal. Thoughts will surface all day long. This is a never ending cycle. Here’s the key though – to see your thoughts, acknowledge them and then let them go. Don’t live in them. Don’t let your ego control your thinking when your loving soul is wanting you to be in the beautiful present moment.  

My breath has now become a go to in moments of overwhelm, in moments of confusion and in moments that I just need to chill out. 

The next time you are lost in thought, the next time you are thinking in a fear filled way, focus on your breath. 

Breathe in and out, in and out…

Your breath is the one thing that will always keep you in the present moment. It is in the present moment that you will feel free.

The power of your breath will create a calmness in your heart and an ease in your soul.

Breathe in and out, in and out….

It is through your breath that you will find the answers that you seek.
